Terms & Conditions (Tattoo Studio & Website)
Effective date: 03/01/2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings, services, purchases and use of our website made with Kindred Ink (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an appointment, paying a deposit, purchasing any products/vouchers, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
If anything here conflicts with your statutory rights under UK consumer law, your statutory rights will always apply.
1) Studio details
Studio name: Kindred Ink
Address: 43 High Street, HR9 5HD
Contact: info@kindredink.co.uk
2) Eligibility, age & ID
-
No tattoos on under-18s. We do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18. Valid photo ID may be required.
-
We reserve the right to refuse service if you cannot provide acceptable ID when requested.
-
You confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and consent to the procedure.
3) Booking, deposits & appointment confirmation
-
Appointments are secured by a deposit/booking fee.
-
Deposits are non-refundable and are used to cover drawing/admin time and reserving the appointment slot.
-
Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been paid and we have acknowledged the appointment date/time.
-
Deposits may be deducted from the final price unless stated otherwise at the time of booking.
4) Pricing & quotes
-
Prices vary depending on size, placement, detail, style, and time required.
-
Any quote provided before the appointment is an estimate. Final pricing may change if the design/placement/time changes.
-
We may apply minimum charges.
-
Full payment is due on the day of the appointment unless agreed in writing.
5) Cancellations, rescheduling, lateness & no-shows
-
If you need to reschedule, you must give at least 72 hours’ notice.
-
With sufficient notice, your deposit may be transferred to a new date once at our discretion.
-
Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 72 hours’ notice will normally result in the deposit being forfeited.
-
No-shows forfeit the deposit and require a new deposit to rebook.
-
If you arrive late, your appointment time may be shortened or cancelled if it cannot be completed. If we cannot proceed due to lateness, the deposit may be forfeited.
6) Refunds (important)
Because tattoo services are custom and time-based, refunds are not available. This includes change of mind, dissatisfaction after approving the design, or stopping mid-session.
This does not affect your statutory rights where applicable. Please also see our separate Refund Policy.
7) Design process & approval
-
Tattoo designs are custom and created based on the information you provide.
-
You are responsible for confirming: spelling, dates, names, symbols, reference accuracy, and any important details.
-
You will be asked to approve the final design, size, and placement before tattooing begins. Once approved, changes may not be possible on the day.
-
Significant design changes requested after approval may require a new appointment and may require a new deposit.
8) Artistic discretion
-
Our artists may decline to tattoo:
-
designs they believe are unsuitable, unsafe, impractical, or likely to age poorly
-
designs that are offensive, hateful, or discriminatory
-
designs that are too similar to another artist’s copyrighted work
-
-
We reserve the right to make minor adjustments that improve flow, longevity, or placement suitability (we will explain these where needed).
9) Health, safety & consent
You must disclose relevant medical information before the appointment, including (not exhaustive):
-
blood-borne viruses, infections, skin conditions, allergies
-
pregnancy/breastfeeding
-
medications that affect bleeding/healing (e.g., blood thinners)
-
immune disorders or conditions affecting healing
-
recent sunburn, illness, or damaged skin at the tattoo site
We may refuse or stop a session if:
-
you are under the influence of alcohol/drugs
-
you appear unwell, aggressive, or unable to give informed consent
-
the skin is not suitable for tattooing (sunburn, infection, irritation, etc.)
-
you do not follow safety instructions
In these situations, refunds are not offered and deposits may be forfeited.
10) Aftercare & healing
-
We provide aftercare guidance; you agree to follow it.
-
Healing outcomes vary by person, placement, skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare.
-
We are not responsible for healing complications caused by aftercare failures, sun exposure, swimming too early, picking/scratching, or work-related wear.
11) Touch-ups
-
Touch-ups (if offered) are at our discretion and subject to assessment.
-
If we offer a touch-up window, it is 4 after the tattoo, and you must contact us within that period.
-
Touch-ups may be chargeable where the issue is due to aftercare failure, difficult placements (hands/fingers/feet), scar tissue, or other factors outside our control.
12) Guest policy & studio conduct
-
Please arrive on time and follow studio hygiene/safety rules.
-
We may limit guests due to space, privacy, or safety.
-
Abusive behaviour, harassment, or intimidation will result in refusal of service and removal from the premises.
13) Photography, video & social media
-
We may photograph/film tattoos for portfolio and marketing purposes. We will ask permission where reasonably possible.
-
If you do not want your tattoo photographed or posted online, you must tell us before the appointment begins.
-
You may take personal photos, but you must not film other clients or staff without consent.
14) Intellectual property (design ownership)
-
All custom designs, drawings, and stencil artwork created by our artists remain the intellectual property of Kindred Ink / the artist unless agreed otherwise in writing.
-
You may not reproduce, sell, or commercially exploit our designs without written permission.
-
If you take a design elsewhere after we have drawn it, your deposit remains non-refundable and you may be in breach of these Terms.
15) Gift vouchers & promotions (if applicable)
-
Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
-
Vouchers must be presented at redemption and are subject to any expiry terms stated at purchase.
-
Promotions/discounts may be time-limited and cannot usually be combined unless stated.
16) Products & merchandise (if applicable)
-
Hygiene-sealed or opened products cannot be refunded for hygiene reasons unless faulty.
-
Faulty items will be handled in line with your statutory rights.
17) Liability & limitations
-
Tattooing is a body modification procedure and carries inherent risks (including infection, allergic reaction, scarring, and imperfect healing). You accept these risks.
-
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under law).
-
Subject to the above, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in question.
18) Complaints & resolution
If you have a concern, contact us as soon as possible with:
-
your name, appointment date, and artist
-
clear photos (in good lighting) where relevant
-
a short explanation of the issue
-
We’ll review it fairly and, where appropriate, discuss options such as advice, assessment, or touch-up eligibility.
